EGYPT, Sohag: Governmental schools are most of the times poorly equipped and the curriculum is based on learning by heart rather than learning to think. Teachers say something and the children repeat it screaming at the top of their voices. Often children cover their ears with their hands in order to hear themselves like this little boy does. Scholls in rural Egypt like this one, El Zarazra Elementary School, gets even less attention by the government.
